Role summary/purpose of job

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic AI & Innovation Learning Leader to support our journey into the AI-powered future. This critical role will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive learning strategy centered around future skills, initially focusing on Artificial Intelligence and its adoption within our business. You will lead the design, development, and delivery of engaging and effective learning programs that empower our employees to understand, utilize, and innovate with AI technologies. This role is pivotal in driving our firm’s AI transformation and ensuring we remain competitive in the industry.

You will be a key driver in fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation, ensuring our workforce remains at the forefront of AI advancements and their practical application within our industry. Once embedded within the core curriculum, the focus of the role will transition to a broader future skills building impact.

Key responsibilities and deliverables

Strategic Learning Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive AI, innovation and future skills learning strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Identify key AI skill gaps across the organization and propose targeted learning solutions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest AI trends, technologies, and best practices, and translate them into actionable learning initiatives.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of AI learning programs and demonstrate ROI.

Learning Program Development & Management:

  • Design and curate engaging and effective AI and future skills training programs, including workshops, online courses, simulations, and hands-on projects.
  • Manage the entire learning lifecycle, from needs assessment and content development to delivery, evaluation, and iteration.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and external vendors to develop high-quality learning materials.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of learning platforms and tools.
  • Manage budgets related to the AI training programs.

Innovation & Culture Building:

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and experimentation with AI technologies.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration among employees on AI-related topics.
  • Organize and facilitate innovation workshops and hackathons to encourage the development of new AI-powered solutions.
  • Work with leadership to integrate AI learning into the company's overall innovation strategy.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with the People Team leadership, Global Innovation Office, IT, and other business leaders to ensure alignment on AI learning initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with Freshfields colleagues at all levels about AI learning opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners and industry experts.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding the progress of AI learning initiatives.

Key requirements (Communication/skills/experience)

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing learning programs, preferably in the field of Artificial Intelligence or related technologies.
  • Strong understanding of AI concepts, technologies, and applications.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies.
  • Experience working in a global environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York and California, Freshfields is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the States of New York and California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $150,000 to $200,000.
