So, what’s the role all about?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI Engineer to join the NiCE CXone Mpower Proactive AI Agent research team. In this role, you will play a key role in the success of our AI delivery, ensuring performance to the highest standards.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering enterprise-grade AI capabilities, including generative AI, agentic AI, LLMs and RAG (retrieval-augmented generation).

The AI Engineer will optimise prompts to generative AI models across NiCE's Proactive AI Agent applications, working with several groups in the business to help our applications deliver the highest quality customer experience.

How will you make an impact?  

  • Design and implement models that seamlessly integrate advanced AI technologies into our products.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business goals into scalable, effective AI solutions.
  • Work closely with other AI teams across R&D to build and maintain a unified AI strategy.
  • Drive innovation by staying current with the latest advancements in AI and applying them to real-world use cases.
  • Enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of AI-powered services in a production environment.
  • Mentor peers and contribute to a collaborative, knowledge-sharing team culture.
  • Review production prompts for problems and potential improvements.
  • Help evaluate evolving AI-based tools from other members of the Research team.
  • Stay informed about new advances in AI Engineering.

Have you got what it takes?

Required

  • Python development experience (3+ years)
  • Experience writing Python backend APIs (e.g. Flask or FastAPI)
  • Experience writing Python packages
  • Source control experience (git)
  • Writing clear, documented, easy to maintain code
  • Experience with CI/CD and Python test suites (e.g. pytest)
  • Experience using generative models, prompting and testing at scale
  • Familiarity with best practices in AI Engineering, to include differences in prompts between major LLM vendors.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and present to internal and external stakeholders.

Nice to have, but not essential

  • NLP/Deep learning experience (e.g. huggingface, spaCy)
  • Deep learning framework experience (preferably PyTorch)
  • MLOps experience (e.g. data and model versioning, model deployment CI/CD, MLFlow/DVC)
  • Some basic devops experience useful (kubectl, helm, etc.)
  • Cloud platform experience, especially from an ML standpoint (AWS preferred)
  • Statistical testing experience
  • Basic AWS resource management, including microservice deployment.
  • Experience with AWS Bedrock
  • Experience with C#
  • Containerization via Docker.
  • Awareness of basic data science and generative AI methods.
  • Exposure to generative AI application frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, SmolAgents and griptape.
