Marketing and Business Development Manager

Location: UK (hybrid, with travel to our Exeter office as needed)

Swanky is a Shopify Platinum Partner delivering high-performance ecommerce solutions for some of the most ambitious brands in the UK and Europe. We're trusted by Shopify to lead its largest and most complex projects - from international launches to platform migrations and custom systems integrations.

We’ve been grateful to experience significant growth over the last few years. We’re now looking to further invest in our go-to-market (GTM) team to maintain momentum and continue improving our ability to execute at scale.

We are looking for an individual who can head up our B2B lead generation, owning strategy, planning and delivering high-impact campaigns and events that build our pipeline and increase brand awareness. You’ll form an integral part of our go-to-market team, supporting content creation and partner co-marketing initiatives, as well as working closely with our sales team on lead follow-up. What matters most is finding an individual who understands the professional services industry, can own the plan, bring deeper capabilities, and help us to tell the Swanky story and enable more retailers to grow their businesses with Shopify.

The role

We have a clear and ambitious growth plan in place. You’ll play a key role in running and delivering it - coordinating activity across campaigns, events, partnerships and content, working closely with the wider GTM team and CEO.

This is a full-time, hands-on role with lots of variety. You’ll be comfortable working across different areas of marketing, with particular interest and experience in business development, executing campaigns, planning events and managing partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead our content- and campaign-based business development strategy and delivery (e.g. generate leads, run campaigns, encourage event attendance, increase brand awareness).
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns with the wider GTM team, producing the content and assets needed to execute to a high standard.
  • Plan and deliver Swanky-hosted events aligned with campaign goals (e.g. dinners, brunches, sports hospitality).
  • Research and recommend industry and partner events to attend, sponsor or activate around.
  • Build and maintain collaborative marketing activity with partners in the Shopify ecosystem.
  • Maintain strong, consistent agency presence across LinkedIn (including planning, posting and engagement).
  • Support inbound content strategy: supporting the creation of timely, relevant content, including collaborating with client teams to produce detailed and technical thought leadership articles and case studies.
  • Keep the Swanky website up to date (e.g. content updates, SEO hygiene, coordination with Chief Creative Officer where needed).
  • Report on agency marketing activity, using insights to improve future work.

What we’re looking for

  • A strong all-rounder marketing skillset, with particular strength in business development and outbound campaigns.
  • Experience in professional services and B2B marketing
  • Knowledge of and experience in the Shopify ecosystem (agency-side or within a Shopify SaaS/partner company).
  • Comfortable stepping in quickly and taking ownership.
  • Ability to work autonomously when required, while also bringing structure and direction to internal collaborators on bigger initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the credibility to operate at senior levels internally and externally.
  • A genuine interest in commerce, commerce strategy and emerging industry trends.

Why Swanky?

Swanky is one of the most experienced Shopify Plus agencies in the world, known for delivering high-impact ecommerce solutions for ambitious retailers. As a Shopify Platinum Partner, we work at the forefront of the ecosystem, building out best-in-class implementations and solving complex problems for clients across sectors and geographies.

This is a chance to join a fast-growing business with a strong reputation, a clear strategy, and a lot of exciting work ahead. You’ll be part of a high-performing team that values commercial thinking, a strong people-first emphasis and a commitment to ensuring you further your career.

Benefits

  • Salary: Competitive DOE
  • 30 days holiday per year, inclusive of bank holidays, plus 1 additional day per full year served (capped at 5)
  • Flexible working hours during the day
  • Beautiful Exeter-based offices for those based in the South-West of the UK (this can also be a fully remote role for the right candidate, although a hybrid working pattern is preferred)
  • Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 access to support services
  • Free unlimited tea, hot chocolate, coffee, and healthy snacks (in the office)
  • MacBook Pro (or preferred tech setup)
  • Work with ambitious, creative, and high-growth eCommerce brands across diverse sectors
  • Opportunities for professional development and progression in a growing, forward-thinking team
  • Regular company socials and events, plus opportunities for travel to events and conferences
