That’s why we are building a large-scale network of 100% renewable powered, free, EV charging stations to make charging more convenient, fast and affordable.


As the Acquisition Manager (Private landowner / Commercial) at JOLT, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. You will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and progressing sites to build-ready status, supporting JOLT’s mission to make sustainable, renewable-powered EV charging accessible and affordable.


The ideal candidate is a deal-focused professional with strong origination skills, able to navigate complex transactions, and proactively solve issues in collaboration with JOLT’s, origination, legal, planning, development and deployment teams. This Acquisition manager role will have a January/February 2025 start date.


Key Responsibilities include 

Site Aquisition

  • Lead Site Acquisition: Identify, secure, and manage high-potential sites in collaboration with owners, land agents and property managers.
  • Pipeline Management: Drive multiple EV charging sites from Heads of Terms to build ready, maintaining efficient progress through KPIs.
  • Feasibility Review: Evaluate sites' commercial and technical viability in consultation with internal and external experts.
  • Working with Development and handover to Deployment: Ensure sites meet commercial requirements, transitioning smoothly to the development and deployment teams for installation.

Commercial Negotiation & Legal Documentation

  • Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with legal and development teams to finalise agreements with landowners and other stakeholders.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively address obstacles, escalating issues to senior management as needed to ensure timelines are met.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and report progress on legal and contractual matters, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Commercial viability

  • Commercial / Budget Analysis: Collaborate with UK Country Manager and global CFO to assess and validate costs, ensuring alignment with commercial requirements.

Governance & Documentation

  • Approval Coordination: Prepare and organise documentation for internal investment / commercial approvals.
  • Governance Process Enhancement: Work with UK Country Manager to refine governance processes, supporting streamlined site acquisition.

Stakeholder Engagement & Team Support

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work alongside, legal, planning, development and deployment teams to ensure cohesive site progression.
  • External Partnerships: Foster relationships and represent JOLT as a leader in EV infrastructure development.
  • Team Development: Mentor team members, conducting training and workshops to foster a collaborative and innovative culture.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion Best Practices: Lead the adoption of innovative methods, tools, and processes to improve site acquisition efficiency.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Organise training sessions and workshops to build expertise across JOLT’s EV commercial, development and deployment team.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Professional Experience: Background in commercial site acquisition within out of home advertising, EV infrastructure or a similar field.
  • Project Management Skills: Proven track record of managing multiple projects with a focus on negotiation and delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to foster relationships across senior and junior levels, driving accountability and results.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong detail orientation with structured data management and KPI tracking.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communicator, capable of engaging with senior management and representing JOLT in public forums.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, and CRM systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Skilled in addressing issues, escalating when necessary, and maintaining progress under pressure.
