Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced accounts assistant to manage day-to-day bookkeeping across the business and assist with reports. The role suits someone comfortable working with multiple accounting systems, maintaining accurate records, and supporting month-end processes in a multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records across one or more entities.

  • Process sales and manage accounts receivable in particular debt collection.

  • Manage accounts payable by processing purchase invoices, credit notes, and payments.

  • Perform bank, balance sheet, and control account reconciliations.

  • Post journals, accruals, and prepayments.

  • Support month-end close and management accounts.

  • Prepare VAT returns and supporting schedules for review.

  • Prepare cashflow forecasts.

  • Work across multiple accounting systems and support process improvements.

  • Liaise with internal teams and external accountants as required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • AAT Level 3/4 or equivalent

  • Proven bookkeeping experience in a commercial environment.

  • Experience using multiple accounting systems (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite)

  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and VAT

  • High attention to detail and strong Excel skills

  • Proactive and improvement-oriented

  • Clear communicator and collaborative team player
