Accounting Team Lead (Associate Manager) (R2R)

•            Location: Frimley, Surrey

•            Function:  Finance - Shared Service Centre (SSC)

We do not offer international relocation for this role

About the role

This is a fixed term contract position to cover a maternity leave for 12 months

Reporting to the SSC Manager, Finance, this role is responsible for leading the Accounting Team in providing high quality financial services to a group of company codes, through accurate and timely financial statements, analysis capability, solid financial controls and successful audits as well as identifying and developing a talented and empowered accounting team of analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for month-end and year-end.
  • Explain finance accounts to local or regional Finance members.
  • Apply policies and internal controls, ensuring Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
  • Oversee annual external and internal audits.
  • Lead, develop, and empower the Accounting team.
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members.
  • Foster a creative and innovative environment for continuous improvement.
  • Create a 'great place to work' atmosphere.
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journals.
  • Implement LEAN methodologies to reduce complexity.
  • Drive cross-country process improvement within the SSC and local countries.
  • Support the SSC Strategic Vision and lead weekly Team Huddles.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects as required.

Experience you'll bring

  • Qualified/Finalist for a recognized Accounting qualification. Graduate calibre, ideally a degree in finance or accounting
  • Leadership skills to manage a growing team
  • Strong Business and accountancy understanding and experience
  • Experience supporting senior management
  • Ability to work across Countries/Regions and confidently work with Senior Stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge Excel & PowerPoint
  • Experience and knowledge of SAP, BPC, BW
