Are you an experienced transactional accounting leader? Do you enjoy leading others in achieving a group objective? Are you most happy within a busy work environment? If so read on, we’re currently seeking an Accounting Operations Team Leader where our teams are responsible for day to day processes such as Customer Invoicing, Supplier Management, receipt, and payment processing

Key Purpose

  • Subject matter expert in Accounting Operations Processes driving operational efficiencies

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day workload of the Accounting Operations Team

  • Develop Team members by providing feedback and coaching, ensuring individual competences and improving team performance.

  • Effective management of third-party relationships.

  • Implement/manage controls to mitigate risk of regulatory breaches and customer detriment.

  • Responsibility for escalated queries from Internal and External Customers.

Responsibilities

  • Understand all department processes implementing process changes to improve customer and winder business journeys.

  • Knowledge expert working alongside stakeholders to overcome operational challenges.

  • Responsibly for the daily workflow and mailbox management making sure a high level of accuracy is achieved and SLA’s are met.

  • Actively develop, coach and mentor direct reports to ensure they meet their full potential in line with agreed business strategy including Objective setting and review.

  • Change Management, assisting in the design implementation and delivery of core strategic projects.

  • Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to, and related E-Learning courses are completed within the required deadline.

  • Control of business area policies and procedures making sure they are up to date and reviewed periodically.

  • Completion of Monthly MI.

  • Root cause analysis on errors ensuring relevant steps are in place to mitigate risk and unfair treatment of the customer.

  • Overall responsibility for Operational areas Permanent Supervision, ensuring monthly controls are completed by the required deadline and implementing suggestions from relevant actions.

  • Support Yearly company audit, being open and transparent providing data in a professional manner.

  • Provide support across the department as and when requested during peak/holiday/sickness.

  • Ad hoc project work in line with company strategy

Skills, Experience & Background

  • Previous Leadership experience working in a fast-paced organisation, with proven coaching and mentoring skills.

  • AAT Level 4 or similar accounting qualification

  • Proven ability in working under pressure

  • An interest in problem solving and efficiency finding

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Evidence of strong organisation skills including time management.

  • High Level of numeracy and attention to detail.

  • Good standard in IT literacy with particular focus on Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
