At Dexory, we’re transforming global logistics through advanced software, AI and robotics. We’re a fast-growing technology business combining hardware, software and AI to solve complex problems at pace.

We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Lead to take ownership of our accounting function as Dexory continues its rapid international growth.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong audit background and solid in-house experience who is ready to take the next step — moving from reviewing and advising on financial processes to owning, improving and building them.

Reporting to the CFO, you’ll be part of the senior Finance leadership team and work closely with the FinOps and Corporate Finance leads. You’ll initially manage a team of three accountants, with scope to grow the team as the business scales.

Please note: this role requires the successful candidate to be onsite in Wallingford a minimum of 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

  • Own accounting across our UK, EU and US entities
  • Lead the month-end close, consolidations and financial reporting
  • Strengthen accounting processes, policies and internal controls
  • Lead the annual statutory audit and manage external auditors and advisors
  • Oversee VAT, tax compliance and statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions
  • Support SOX readiness and investor due diligence
  • Provide technical accounting input into planning, forecasting and reporting
  • Partner with the CFO and wider Finance team on commercial and financial matters
  • Lead, develop and grow the accounting team
  • Drive automation, systems improvements and scalable processes

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring a combination of audit rigour and in-house commercial understanding.

You might currently be an Audit Manager, Senior Audit Manager, Financial Controller, Accounting Manager or similar, with experience across both audit and industry.

We’re looking for:

  • 8+ years’ relevant accounting, audit or financial reporting experience
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge
  • Experience with financial controls, risk and governance
  • Previous in-house experience in a growing or international business
  • Experience managing external audits and auditors
  • Multi-entity and multi-currency accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of UK/EU VAT; US/Canada sales tax experience is a plus
  • Experience improving processes, systems or controls
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience leading or developing finance professionals

Benefits

Starting from the interview process and continuing into your career with us, you will be working by our four Operating Principles:

  • Employee Assistance Programme - mental wellbeing, financial and legal advice/support
  • 25 holidays per year
  • Full meals onsite in Wallingford
