About The Role
Support the delivery of accurate and timely financial information, ensuring compliance with statutory and group requirements. Take responsibility for core accounting processes, including month end close, VAT, transaction-level GL accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and group reporting. Contribute to intercompany reconciliations, banking, and purchase-to-pay processes, working closely with the Accounts Payable team. Interface with key stakeholders across Group Finance, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury to maintain robust financial control and reporting. Assist with audit processes, ensuring the provision of required documentation and analysis to support both internal and external audit requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the delivery of core financial processes including month end close, VAT returns, and management reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness of transaction-level GL accounting.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation.
- Input into VAT returns and assist with related compliance activities.
- Prepare and submit group reporting packs in line with group deadlines and requirements.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Manage banking processes, including reconciliations and payments.
- Support the purchase-to-pay process, interfacing with the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices.
- Collaborate with Group Finance, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury teams to support business objectives and ensure alignment of financial information.
- Assist with audit processes, providing information and analysis as required.
- Maintain accurate and auditable records of all financial activities.
- Assist with finance transformation initiatives.
- Perform other relevant duties as directed by management.
- Prepare audit schedules and documentation, liaise with external auditors, and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables.
What You’ll Bring
- ACA/CA/ACCA (or overseas equivalent) accounting qualification required.
- Minimum 2 years’ audit experience with a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Experience in core accounting processes including month end close, VAT, GL accounting, and reconciliations.
- Exposure to group reporting and intercompany reconciliations.
- Experience working with accounting software systems (Workday preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deliver to deadlines and demonstrate high levels of integrity.
- Experience within public accounting firm with commercial experience ideally within the Construction (or similar) industry.
- Accounting Software Systems and Applications. Workday (preferred).
