About the job

The Food and Water division here at Alfa Laval UK&I are looking for an account manager to join our team. They will be responsible for identifying business opportunities and securing end user sales within the market of Alfa Laval Hygienic Fluid Handling (HFH) & Food Heat Transfer (FHT) products, services and applications. Engaging with key end users and our channel network, you will be preferably located in the Midlands / South. North/Scotland will be considered depending on the applicant. The role will require someone that provides a superior customer experience, drives growth and increases our market share. This will be a home-based role, and the successful candidate will have a full driving license as travel will be frequent in the UK&I.

Key tasks include:

  • Following established sales processes and guidelines to promote and sell Alfa Laval HFH or FHT Product and services.

  • Develop and manage leads & opportunities, to establish and grow your business pipeline, ensure quotes are delivered on time from our P&A team and follow up

  • Being active in the market and focusing on securing visits, meetings and interactions with customers, focusing on customer needs whilst understanding and highlighting our value proposition.

  • Being an ambassador of the Alfa Laval guiding principles and promote our core environmental and sustainability drivers.

  • Using the CRM tool and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way, to support the sales process and take decisions.

  • Providing support including trouble shooting / claim management to our customers

  • Deliver or facilitate training together with the local and central organization in HFH or FHT

  • Supporting new products launches and initiatives coming into the market.

  • Building strong internal relationships and liaising with other departments (both locally and within the group) technical and customer support, marketing, operations, finance and logistics.

  • Scout and develop new end user customers base and set them up into our systems when applicable

  • Support channels with the execution of their business plan and with end user initiatives

  • Liase with rest of the HFH and FHT team to help deliver the yearly forecast and sales plan

What you know?

You hold a degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

You bring a strong background and proven experience in direct sales, with knowledge of key industries such as Dairy, Food, Pharma, and Home & Personal Care being a significant advantage. Familiarity with our sizing and selection tools is also beneficial. Additionally, you possess technical expertise in at least one of the following areas: hygienic pumps, valves, or tank equipment. You have strong IT skills and are confident in navigating new systems and internal tools.
