Job Description

As a Territory Account Manager, you will be responsible for selling the complete consumables and instrumentation portfolio into sample management and biobanking facilities, as well as the wider life sciences market, with a focus on Oxford, Wales and the South West region.

You will use your knowledge and understanding of the market to help us expand our sample management market share while growing our customer network directly and alongside our preferred distribution partners.

What You'll Do​

  • Develop and execute an effective business growth plan in line with SMS strategic initiatives and sales funnel management best practices, focusing on growth opportunities including new market penetration, either directly or alongside channel partners.

  • Achieve annual sales goals within assigned territory through the development, maintenance, and enhancement of client accounts.

  • Deliver on annual and quarterly sales targets, with regular reporting supported by the CRM tool, Salesforce.  Report on pipeline and sales activities on a monthly basis.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the benefits of Azenta’s consumables and instrumentation portfolio, including how we minimise risk, improve sample quality and enhance access to our clients’ valuable samples, materials and drug products.

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and competitor activity.  Identify new business opportunities and market trends to drive growth.

  • Follow up on e-commerce and inbound leads, working to convert them into sales opportunities. 

  • Represent Azenta at account events, such as tabletop meetings, seminars and other events, acting as a brand ambassador either independently or with distribution partners.

  • Support regional distributor partners, build on relationships and support in customer meetings, events & training when required.

  • Attend and facilitate exhibitions, maintaining and increasing face-to-face customer interaction through efficient territory planning.

  • Gather customer intelligence and feedback to support proactive participation in product enhancement and new product development.

  • Ensure accurate management of CRM records (SFDC) within the territory

  • Ensure that product knowledge and customer communication are maintained to the highest standard.

  • Provide product samples and quotations to customers in a timely manner.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a life sciences discipline, such as molecular biology, microbiology, biological sciences, biochemistry, medical science or a related field.

  • Proven field sales experience – 2 years minimum – within the UK life sciences market, ideally with laboratory consumables, instrumentation and/or sample management solutions.

  • Ability to demonstrate technical products and clearly explain sample management workflows, customer value and application benefits.

  • Commercially focused and target-driven, with strong territory planning, pipeline management, account development and customer relationship skills.

  • Good awareness of the UK laboratory and life sciences marketplace, including customer needs, market trends and competitor activity.

  • Self-motivated, organised and confident working independently across a defined territory while contributing effectively as part of a wider sales team.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across Oxford, Wales and the South West UK.
