We are united by a shared passion and no-limits mindset, and our strength lies in our ability to collaborate as a powerful international team comprised of 18,000 employees spanning over 100 countries.

What is the role?

Our Carrier Management team is seeking an Account Manager to help drive client engagement and to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. This role will support the team’s mission to advise insurance carriers on a range of critical areas aimed at driving their commercial and operational success.

The Carrier Management team specialises in providing tailored consultancy services, including identifying growth opportunities, developing sponsorship initiatives, delivering market insights, and enhancing overall carrier performance. The Account Manager will be key in these efforts by helping understanding client needs, analysing market trends, and supporting the team in the development of innovative, bespoke solutions that align with client objectives.

Please note that this is a full-time, permanent role based in our Central London office. You are expected to be onsite 4-5 days per week on average.

What will you be doing?

  • Serve as liaison for client queries, issues, and strategic alignment; foster long-term partnerships.

  • Shape business strategy, support digital/data initiatives, and contribute to insurer and placement strategies.

  • Deliver services like dashboards and trading platforms; perform data analysis and reporting; create proposals and identify risks.

  • Maintain accurate records, follow regulatory policies, and ensure team compliance with governance standards.

  • Promote Howden Markets values, share insights, and represent the company at industry events.

  • Stay current with market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices; model a collaborative, customer-centric mindset.

What are we looking for?

  • Knowledge of account management, insurance industry, and London Market operations.

  • Strong planning, attention to detail, communication, and data proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Customer-focused, collaborative, strategic thinker with a proactive attitude.

  • Degree-level education preferred; ACII study commenced.

What do we offer in return?

A career that you define. At Howden, we value diversity – there is no one Howden type. Instead, we’re looking for individuals who share the same values as us:

  • Our successes have all come from someone brave enough to try something new

  • We support each other in the small everyday moments and the bigger challenges

  • We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond

Reasonable adjustments

We're committed to providing reasonable accommodations at Howden to ensure that our positions align well with your needs.  Besides the usual adjustments such as software, IT, and office setups, we can also accommodate other changes such as flexible hours* or hybrid working*.

If you're excited by this role but have some doubts about whether it’s the right fit for you, send us your application – if your profile fits the role’s criteria, we will be in touch to assist in helping to get you set up with any reasonable adjustments you may require.

*Not all positions can accommodate changes to working hours or locations. Reach out to your Recruitment Partner if you want to know more.
