Job Description :

Global Travel (GT) operates in the unique and exclusive Travel Retail (i.e. Duty Free) sector. Often referred to as the sixth continent, Travel Retail has its own set of inhabitants, geography and channels (international airport shops, international land border stores, on-board airlines, ferries and cruise ships, along with some non-retail and diplomatic sales) as well as its own unique commercial landscape (operating 24/7 across multiple languages and currencies with 200+ nationalities travelling annually).

From Bhutan to Botswana and from Venezuela to Vietnam, GT is the only market in Diageo which offers global scope and market accountability. Responsible for representing and selling Diageo products in more than 110 countries around the world, and with access to billions of potential shoppers globally, we are a strategically important market for Diageo in terms of both profit and NSV.

Role Scope / Context on customers:

In this role you will be working across all key customers within the Europe team who service Airport, Cruise, Ferries, Border Stores and Diplomatic channels. You will support the account managers with day-to-day performance management, alongside building relationships with our key airports across the regions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our key airport customers

  • Managing internal & external performance reporting across the portfolio

  • Analysing promotional strategies and deriving insights from the data to determine future activity

  • Partnering with Customer Marketing to deliver against the activation plans within the customer

  • Leading the innovation/NPD agenda with regards to information flow, strategy & performance updates, internally and for the customer.

  • Leading the delivery of our cash performance objectives through analysis and audit of customer investment claims and communication with our credit control team

  • Is instrumental in feeding back insights and understanding to the business through effective M&E and work with CP&A team, Finance teams (CFM’s) and Customer Marketing Managers and executes customer plans that deliver long term sustainable growth for Diageo and our customers

About You:

  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to compile & collate data to derive insight and action

  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills

  • Good commercial understanding, P&L literacy - strong numerical skills.

  • Ability to interact and influence at multiple levels

  • Deep understanding of and passion for consumers, shoppers and categories

  • Highly positive thinker, able to create new possibilities and manage through ambiguity

  • Ability to gain momentum and to drive change internally and externally

  • Exhibits consistent high levels of learning agility in all aspects of role – early adopter of new ways of working and platform changes
