Brunswick Group is seeking an experienced Account Director to join its London team. This person will play a key role in supporting the team’s analytics work globally, working closely with the Global Head as well as other colleagues, including our Digital and AI Lab teams.
Brunswick Insight is the firm’s strategic research hub, helping to bring a more comprehensive view of the outside world to inform the advice Brunswick gives to its clients.
The team specialises in conducting qualitative and quantitative opinion research, as well as leveraging cutting-edge tools to analyse “passive” sources of insight such as news coverage, social media posts, search data, etc.
The role will see the person join at a critical moment as AI revolutionises analytics research while the media environment becomes increasingly fragmented. While the majority of work done will be in support of clients, new business and thought leadership, a significant focus will also be on evolving our analytics methods, ensuring we deliver timely, high-quality and compelling insights in the most efficient manner possible.
About the RoleYour day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Identifying client needs and translating them into clear, actionable research briefs.
- Conducting preliminary research to assess feasibility, determine optimal research design, and select appropriate tools.
- Gathering, cleaning, and preparing data samples using both automated tools and manual approaches.
- Analysing data to identify patterns, trends, and insights relevant to client objectives.
- Communicating research findings clearly and effectively, both in writing (e.g., PowerPoint reports) and verbally.
- Ensuring the smooth delivery and management of research projects from start to finish.
- Identifying, testing, and evaluating new tools and suppliers to enhance our research offering.
- Upskilling colleagues to strengthen their ability to support analytics-driven research projects.
- Promoting and embedding an insight-led culture across the firm.
- A demonstrated track record in media evaluation, social media analysis, influencer mapping and broader reputational analytics.
- Hands-on experience with leading media intelligence and analytics platforms (e.g., Brandwatch, Quid, Factiva).
- Advanced use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT), including designing structured workflows for data analysis, transformation and complex reasoning — beyond basic prompting.
- Experience leveraging data and insight to inform advice on high-stakes business issues and strategic decision-making.
- Strong understanding of current affairs, particularly business, financial and corporate issues.
- Clear understanding of the role of corporate affairs teams and the reputational, regulatory and stakeholder challenges they face.
- Solid knowledge of the traditional media landscape and how journalists and newsrooms operate.
- Active and informed user of social media platforms, with an interest in platform dynamics, online behaviours and influence networks.
- Ability to move beyond standard reporting outputs — using advanced data visualisation techniques to elevate insight, narrative and storytelling.
- High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Advanced Excel capability, including data modelling, pivot tables, complex formulas and visualisation.
- Experience working with APIs, data pipelines, databases and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Familiarity with relational mapping tools and social graph analysis.
- Programming capability in Python, including use of data science libraries.
- Fluency in French, German, Italian and/or Spanish (desirable).
