Graphcore’s teams are drawn from diverse backgrounds and bring a broad range of skills and perspectives. A melting pot of AI research specialists, silicon designers, software engineers and systems architects, Graphcore enjoys a culture of continuous learning and constant innovation.
About the roleEngineering Operations helps Graphcore deliver product programmes by turning plans into execution: tracking delivery in Jira, coordinating across engineering and partner teams, and supporting the planning and reporting rhythms that keep work on track.
As a Graduate Data Analyst in the team, you’ll turn delivery data into clear, decision-ready reporting for Engineering Operations and senior leadership. You’ll build Superset dashboards that track milestones, throughput and blockers, helping teams spot risks early and take corrective action. You’ll work with Analytics Engineers to ensure the underlying warehouse datasets and metric definitions are fit for purpose. Where it adds value, you may also create lightweight Python tools or Streamlit apps to support interactive exploration and self-serve insight.
Responsibilities and Duties- Own a set of Engineering Operations dashboards and reports, keeping them accurate, consistent, and useful over time.
- Work with stakeholders to define what “good” looks like for delivery reporting (metrics, slices, drill-downs), and translate that into visualisations.
- Partner with Analytics Engineers to shape the datasets and definitions needed for reliable reporting, and to address gaps or data quality issues.
- Support programme and planning cadences with analysis that highlights trends, exceptions, and areas needing attention or action.
- Improve how reporting is consumed: documentation, metric definitions, and lightweight guidance so teams can self-serve confidently.
- Build simple Python/Streamlit utilities when dashboards aren’t the right interface for the problem.
Essential
- Bachelor or Master's in Computer Science, Maths, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field
- Strong interest in analytics, visualisation, and supporting delivery decision-making in a technical environment.
- Working knowledge of SQL (joins, grouping/aggregations, filtering; comfortable working with imperfect real-world data).
- Experience in building dashboards in a BI tool (ideally Superset)
- Comfortable working with delivery/programme concepts and data (e.g., Jira issues, epics, boards, sprints, milestones).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to capture requirements and explain results clearly.
- Good attention to detail around metric definitions, data quality, and consistent reporting.
- Familiarity with Jira and common delivery metrics (cycle time, throughput, WIP, forecasting).
- Comfortable producing concise reporting outputs for stakeholders (e.g., slide summaries, visuals for meetings).
- Basic Python experience for data analysis; experience with Streamlit is a plus.
- Understanding of data warehouse concepts and working with curated datasets/models.
- Experience writing clear documentation (e.g., dashboard definitions, metric glossary, “how to use this dashboard” notes).
