The Customer Relations Specialist is responsible for developing and managing relationships with international customers and third-party distributors across global markets. This role serves as the primary liaison between customers and internal cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of commercial initiatives, product launches, sales growth strategies, and market expansion plans. 

The position plays a critical role in identifying and developing new business opportunities in markets where the company does not currently have a direct presence. The Customer Relations Supervisor will work closely with distributors, supply chain, marketing, finance, product development, and operations to drive brand growth, improve customer satisfaction, and achieve commercial objectives. 

Key Responsibilities 

Customer & Distributor Relationship Management 

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with international distributors and key customers. 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned global accounts. 

  • Understand customer needs, market dynamics, and business challenges to develop mutually beneficial solutions. 

  • Conduct regular business reviews with distributors to evaluate performance and identify growth opportunities. 

  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution. 

New Market Development 

  • Identify, evaluate, and support opportunities to expand into new international markets. 

  • Develop entry strategies in collaboration with commercial leadership and distributor partners. 

  • Support the selection, onboarding, and development of new distributors. 

  • Monitor competitive activity, industry trends, and market opportunities to recommend expansion initiatives. 

Commercial Strategy & Business Growth 

  • Partner with distributors to establish annual sales targets, growth plans, and market development strategies. 

  • Support execution of commercial plans to increase brand awareness, market share, and profitability. 

  • Identify opportunities to expand product portfolios and distribution channels. 

  • Analyze business performance and provide recommendations to improve sales results. 

New Product Development & Launch Management 

  • Coordinate with customers and internal stakeholders on new product introductions, packaging adaptations, and market-specific requirements. 

  • Lead cross-functional communication to ensure successful product launches. 

  • Track launch milestones and communicate progress to customers and leadership. 

  • Support innovation initiatives aligned with customer and market needs. 

Cross-Functional Coordination 

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Planning, Finance, Marketing, Legal, Regulatory, and Product Development teams. 

  • Facilitate internal discussions to support customer requirements and commercial priorities. 

Brand Development & Market Execution 

  • Support development and execution of brand-building initiatives in assigned markets. 

  • Collaborate with distributors on promotional plans, market activations, and consumer engagement programs. 

  • Monitor market performance and recommend corrective action when needed. 

Qualifications

Education 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field. 

  • MBA preferred. 

Experience 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Customer Relations, International Sales, Business Development, Key Account Management, or Distributor Management. 

  • Experience working with international distributors and global customers. 

  • Consumer packaged goods (CPG), food, beverage, or FMCG experience preferred. 

  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and product launches. 

Technical Skills 

  • Strong business and commercial acumen. 

  • Forecasting and demand planning knowledge. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. 

  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems preferred. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

Language Requirements 

  • Fluent English and Spanish required (written and verbal). 

  • Additional languages are a plus.
