Provides strategic leadership for Wellcome’s Studio, defining its service offer, capabilities, delivery model, and investment priorities. Leads creative, content, experience, insight, and storytelling services across internal teams and external partners. Drives operational efficiency, cost control, measurable value, and return on investment while aligning work with organisational priorities, brand impact, and global engagement. Oversees agencies, freelancers, suppliers, events, experiences, design systems, and content production at scale.

Coordinate organisation-wide communications planning and delivery, including calendars, workflows, approvals, media relations, digital content projects, content libraries, performance tracking, and stakeholder coordination. The role supports timely, strategically aligned communications that strengthen external engagement and Wellcome’s reputation. Success requires strong organisation, attention to detail, prioritisation, communication, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Leads the operational and technical delivery of museum exhibitions, events, and public engagement programmes. Manages planning systems, scheduling, budgets, reporting, risk, governance, compliance, health and safety, and continuous improvement. Line manages four staff and collaborates across curatorial, design, digital, communications, marketing, and finance teams to deliver accessible, high-quality audience experiences.

Develop and maintain Wellcome’s funding policies and grant conditions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and strong governance. Lead policy development projects, advise internal stakeholders, manage compliance issues, provide training, and collaborate with funders, research organisations, and external partners internationally. The role requires expertise in research funding, policy or governance, clear communication, stakeholder relationship management, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
