As a Platform Engineer, you'll manage cloud infrastructure, enhance developer tooling, optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensure system security, and provide support for operations, contributing to team efficiency and productivity.

Lead the technical program management function for company-wide quality, compliance, security, privacy, and operational safety initiatives. Build and coach a TPM team, establish scalable governance and metrics, drive audit readiness, manage risks and dependencies, and partner with engineering, product, safety, legal, security, operations, auditors, and external partners. The role emphasizes pragmatic, lightweight processes that improve compliance and quality without slowing delivery.

Leads the technical program management function for Wayve’s AI Platform, overseeing data and compute infrastructure, developer tooling, training technology, compute management, and embedded inference optimization. Builds and coaches a TPM team, drives flagship programs, establishes governance and performance metrics, manages cross-functional dependencies, and partners with engineering leadership to improve developer velocity, compute efficiency, cost, and model training and inference performance.

Lead the architecture, development, validation, and production deployment of onboard localisation and state-estimation systems for autonomous vehicles. Fuse GNSS, IMU, wheel odometry, and potentially camera, LiDAR, and RADAR data to deliver reliable real-time pose estimates. Define technical roadmaps, develop benchmarking and regression capabilities, manage fault handling and degraded modes, resolve cross-team integration issues, and mentor robotics and state-estimation engineers.

Lead the architecture, development, evaluation, and production deployment of LiDAR and cross-sensor 3D sensing systems for autonomous vehicles. Develop calibration, registration, temporal alignment, motion compensation, and sensor-fusion methods across LiDARs, cameras, and vehicle sensors. Establish evaluation methodologies and metrics, collaborate across engineering and research teams, and provide technical leadership and mentorship.

Develop and maintain C++ and Python simulation software for evaluating autonomous driving systems. Integrate driving-stack, robotics, vehicle-platform, sensor, and machine-learning components; investigate simulation-versus-road differences; improve reproducibility, reliability, observability, testing, debugging, and performance; and collaborate with Simulation, Robotics, Autonomy, Evaluation, Platform, and Data teams.

Lead complex, cross-functional technology programs across AI, software, robotics, vehicle hardware, infrastructure, simulation, data, and product teams. Own delivery plans, improve efficiency, coordinate stakeholders, manage risks and dependencies, align execution with business goals, and drive continuous process improvement in a fast-paced autonomous-vehicle environment.

Leads Wayve’s data strategy for autonomous-driving AI, including data acquisition, discovery, curation, enrichment, training, evaluation, deployment, and performance measurement. Builds the data flywheel, identifies rare and safety-critical scenarios, connects data investment to model outcomes, scales global data architecture, and leads a multidisciplinary Data organization. Partners with AI, Science, Validation, Product, Compute, Finance, and Commercial teams.

Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and build infrastructure across development, testing, and release workflows. Optimize build performance, reliability, scalability, caching, dependency management, and reproducibility. Develop automation and developer tooling, operate CI infrastructure, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and improve CI/CD security and engineering workflows. Partner closely with software engineering teams to enhance developer experience and software delivery.

Develop, integrate, tune, and validate vehicle trajectory and motion controllers for autonomous and assisted driving systems. Build latency-sensitive, production-quality C++ controls software connecting AI outputs to vehicle actuation and feedback. Use simulation, closed-loop evaluation, and on-road testing to diagnose behavior and validate improvements across vehicle platforms. Collaborate cross-functionally on controller interfaces, system integration, and new vehicle features.

Own the safety-case strategy and architecture for Wayve’s robotaxi and ADAS products. Define safety claims, arguments, evidence structures, traceability, and assurance approaches across AI, systems engineering, validation, cybersecurity, and operations. Independently challenge safety cases, identify gaps and residual risks, advise governance forums, and coach engineering and product leaders. Partner across technical teams to align requirements, architecture, validation, and release decisions with a rigorous, scalable safety argument.

Owns release gates and quality standards across Wayve’s machine learning training and delivery lifecycle. Reviews model and metric changes, validates evaluation results, identifies pipeline bottlenecks, and builds checks and automation with AI Platform and CI/CD teams. The role also improves evaluation methodology, model delivery workflows, and MLOps practices while ensuring model releases meet safety and performance standards.

Develop efficient generative world models and planners for closed-loop autonomous-driving simulation. Responsibilities include designing diffusion or transformer-based models, enabling interactive agent simulation, optimizing inference latency and compute efficiency, defining evaluation metrics, integrating models into training and evaluation workflows, measuring sim-to-real performance, mentoring researchers, and contributing to technical roadmaps and publications.

Build and maintain scalable Python libraries, tools, and infrastructure enabling machine learning teams to train, evaluate, and deploy models at scale. Develop abstractions for distributed training, data loading, inference, checkpointing, and evaluation; support large GPU clusters and cloud environments; optimize multimodal data pipelines; and improve reliability through architecture, testing, observability, documentation, and maintainability.

Design digital in-vehicle and guest-facing experiences for autonomous-driving products. Conduct user research and usability testing, translate complex technical and operational needs into accessible journeys and interactions, and create flows, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready designs. Define interaction states, edge cases, and multimodal feedback using visual interfaces, sound, haptics, and lighting. Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams through discovery, validation, implementation, and delivery.

Support Engineering employees and managers across employee relations, performance, engagement, learning and development, policies, and the employee lifecycle. Act as a first point of contact for People queries, manage routine ER processes, prepare documentation, analyze People data, maintain resources, support offboarding, and contribute to company-wide initiatives. The role requires strong UK employment law knowledge, coaching ability, sound judgment, and experience working with technical stakeholders in a fast-paced organization.

Build and operate globally distributed data-transfer infrastructure for video, LiDAR, and sensor data at petabyte-per-day scale. Design parallelized pipelines using Flyte, Kafka, Azure, Python, and Terraform; implement reliability, observability, integrity checks, backfills, dashboards, alerting, and cloud-to-cloud networking. Collaborate with product and external partner teams, support evolving requirements, and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rotation.

Lead global product marketing for Wayve’s Embodied AI software products targeting automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and systems architects. Develop positioning, value propositions, campaigns, content, sales enablement, competitive analysis, thought leadership, and industry-event initiatives. Translate complex AI and automated-driving technologies into compelling customer messaging, support pipeline growth, and collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Automotive, Business Development, and Marketing teams.

Manage day-to-day operations of Wayve's London offices, lead Reception team, oversee facilities, suppliers and contractors, coordinate meetings, events and hospitality, ensure health & safety compliance, support onboarding and workplace projects to deliver an exceptional employee and visitor experience.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will evolve Wayve's simulation platform, focusing on robot emulator fidelity, visual fidelity, or scaling, integrating components and leading technical discussions.
