As a DevOps Software Engineer, you will support the hx Renew platform, provide technical guidance, and mentor team members while tackling complex engineering tasks.

Lead and mentor software engineering teams to deliver cloud-based, microservices solutions. Partner with business and architecture to set strategy and roadmaps. Champion AI-assisted development and design/delivery of LLM-powered agentic solutions within a responsible governance framework. Improve SDLC, drive technical metrics, and collaborate across organization to increase delivery quality and team capability.

Lead the London Market Cyber underwriting team, managing underwriting, pricing, risk selection and profitability. Oversee complex accounts, set underwriting guidelines and authorities, ensure compliance with manuals, drive broker engagement and market presence, hire and manage staff, perform audits, and champion initiatives to grow and improve the cyber portfolio.

Own SME Commercial Combined, Property Owners, and Office product performance and development. Translate underwriting strategy into eTrade product definitions in Acturis, manage portfolio profitability, optimise rules/rating for straight-through processing, lead broker integrations, provide underwriting guidance, deliver data-led portfolio analysis, and coach the SME underwriting team.

Support technical product development for new and updated commercial insurance products by defining underwriting appetite, wordings, system requirements, training materials, and product collateral. Work with SMEs, underwriters, IT and wordings teams to ensure policy wording, system configuration, testing, reinsurance alignment, and governance deliverables are completed on time.

Lead architectural strategy and deliverables for enterprise transformation, driving API- and event-driven designs, performance and stability, governance, proofs-of-concept and cross-team collaboration. Provide technical leadership across application, integration, middleware and data domains while influencing stakeholders and adoption of best practices.

Maintain and develop exposure-based pricing models for Travelers Europe; implement algorithms in the Hyperexponential production system; run batch rating and base-rate calibration processes in Python; prepare data for actuarial rating validation; liaise with underwriters; expand pricing datasets and support pricing team tasks including case pricing, business planning, and reinsurance purchase.
