The Associate Social Media Editor will grow The Athletic’s audience and referral traffic across social and emerging platforms. Responsibilities include creating platform-specific editorial and video content, supporting breaking-news and live sports coverage, monitoring trends and algorithms, analyzing performance, collaborating with newsroom teams, building fan communities, and launching breaking-news emails. The role requires strong writing, sports knowledge, video editing, graphic creation, platform fluency, and flexibility for varied shifts in London.

Build and maintain internal infrastructure and tools to improve product availability and engineering productivity. Implement infrastructure with Terraform, define scaling, alerting and monitoring, support CI/CD, troubleshoot live incidents, and validate work with manual and automated tests.
