Design and build production-grade mission, behavior, and motion planning systems for autonomous ground vehicles in airport airside environments. Drive architecture and algorithm selection, prototype optimization- and learning-based planners, collaborate with perception/localization/controls teams, promote safety and engineering best practices, and mentor engineers.

Own and productionize core localization systems (state estimation, mapping, calibration). Build monitoring, diagnostics, validation, and deployment tooling. Integrate sensors, tune performance, run regression testing, and iterate using data from real autonomous airport operations to enable driverless capability.

Lead and own deployment, release, and change-management processes for autonomous ground vehicle fleets. Approve deployments and software releases, manage bring-up and commissioning, schedule zero-downtime updates, maintain vehicle configuration records, and ensure verification, validation, and regulatory/customer-compliant documentation.

Design, build, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines and infrastructure on AWS, integrating on-prem and cloud flows. Implement IaC, CI/CD, containerization, observability, and automation to ensure high-throughput, reliable data ingestion and processing for autonomous systems.

Own and extend simulation tooling for autonomy: integrate simulators with the production autonomy stack, ensure determinism and reproducibility, run large-scale cloud scenario execution, build evaluation and triage tooling, author scenarios, and maintain pipeline performance and coverage for V&V and release gating.

Perform software safety lifecycle tasks: hazard analyses (HARA, FMEA, FTA, STPA), derive and trace software safety requirements, review C++/Python/ROS code, define fail-safes, collaborate across teams, and support safety cases for airport deployment per ISO 26262 and SOTIF.

Lead system safety engineering for autonomous ground vehicles: perform hazard analyses (HARA, FMEA, FTA, STPA), FMEDA and PMHF, calculate failure rates per industry standards, derive and trace functional and hardware safety requirements for supervised and driverless operation, evaluate sensors and drive-by-wire architectures, and support safety case evidence for airport deployment.

The role involves architecting 3D object detection models, managing data pipelines, developing datasets for training, and mentoring junior engineers.
