Design, build, and maintain Aalyria’s cloud-native Spacetime platform for 5G non-terrestrial networks and Direct-to-Cell services. Develop distributed backend systems using C++, Golang, Java, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and Kubernetes. Translate 3GPP and O-RAN specifications into tested software, build orchestration and federation APIs, integrate platform components, document implementations, and troubleshoot production issues.

Owns end-to-end solution and system architecture for 4G/5G NTN, Direct-to-Cell, SATCOM, and multi-orbit satellite networks. Responsibilities include RAN optimization, resource management, orchestration, interface and API definition, 3GPP standards alignment, technical trade-off analysis, architecture documentation, requirements translation, customer engagements, proposals, and cross-functional technical leadership. The role integrates space, ground, cellular, SDN, and cloud-native platforms within Aalyria’s Spacetime product.

Develop and maintain delay-tolerant networking products, APIs, and platforms using Rust, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers. Build scalable distributed systems on Kubernetes, optimize production applications, debug software, and integrate front-end and server-side components. Create technical documentation and support customer onboarding and system integration. Collaborate across functions, address technical requirements, and contribute to developer relations and customer success.

The Machine Learning Engineer will research algorithms for networking, develop ML infrastructure, maintain documentation, and assist in technical communication.

Design and build a centralized observability platform for satellite and deep-space networks. Implement metrics, logging, and tracing (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo/OpenTelemetry), define SLOs/SLIs/error budgets, automate deployments with IaC and GitOps, integrate observability into Kubernetes and cloud environments, support engineers with instrumentation and tooling, lead monitoring/alerting/incident response, and participate in on-call rotations.

Serve as the technical bridge between physical-layer communications and software orchestration: build and maintain Spacetime system models, write production adapter layers (Python/Go), design data schemas (Protobuf/JSON/gRPC), perform link-budget and propagation analyses, lead tier‑3 triage for live networks, and collaborate with product and engineering to convert integrations into reusable features.

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend systems for link modeling and temporospatial networking. Improve performance and parallelism across heterogeneous compute (CPU/GPU), optimize computational pipelines, and enhance reliability of distributed infrastructure. Collaborate on technical designs, lead architecture decisions, and support production system health, analysis, and visualization.
