Iconic, a London-based company building AI-driven interactive entertainment, has raised €11 million, about $13 million, in seed funding. Kindred and Northzone co-led the round to advance the company’s on-device AI systems and deepen collaborations with game studios experimenting with more dynamic, character-led experiences.

As reported by EU Startups, Iconic initially explored how advances in AI could enable more creative player interactions and has since focused on reducing development costs and complexity by embedding intelligence, agency and personalization directly into gameplay through on-device AI.

Iconic demonstrated this approach earlier this year with “The Oversight Bureau,” a voice-controlled narrative puzzle game. The demo showcases the company’s ACT-1 platform, which EU Startups noted enables spoken player input to shape the game world in real time using a modular, on-device engine.
