Antidote, an AI-powered automated billing compliance platform for global law firms, has raised $5 million in a seed round led by Lakestar. Other investors include Concept Ventures, The LegalTech Fund and a group of industry angels.

Combined with its pre-seed round of $2 million, Antidote’s new capital totals its funding to date at $7 million, and the funds will be used to accelerate product development and U.S. expansion.

The AI platform automatically extracts rules from outside counsel guidelines and checks time entries against client rules to improve client trust and reduce write-offs. It sits on top of a firm’s existing practice management and time-recording systems, suggesting compliant rewrites before bills are sent.
