Job Description

  • Corporation Tax and Tax Accounting:

    • Lead the preparation and filing of UK tax returns for the group, ensuring full compliance with local and international regulations.
    • Optimise Group tax attributes through strategic group relief surrenders and claims.
    • Collaborate with external advisors on capital allowances and R&D tax relief.
    • Manage quarterly corporation tax payments and prepare necessary financial disclosures.
  • Employment Tax:

    • Oversee the preparation of UK PSAs and associated payments.
    • Act as the primary contact for IR35 compliance and facilitate expat income tax return processes with external advisors.
  • Indirect Tax:

    • Review and approve quarterly VAT returns, providing guidance on VAT queries to internal stakeholders.
  • Additional Responsibilities:

    • Ensure robust internal controls over income tax accounting and support SAO compliance.
    • Stay informed on evolving tax laws, ensuring compliance across all taxes, and advising on acquisitions, transfer pricing, and structuring.
    • Manage relationships with external advisors and address local tax authority inquiries.
    • Collaborate with various departments to integrate tax considerations into business operations.
    • Strategically manage the Group's effective tax rate, proposing tax planning opportunities to minimise risks and enhance efficiencies.
    • Continuously review and optimise tax compliance processes for increased efficiency.

  • Clear Communicator: You're great at breaking down complex tax topics into easy-to-understand concepts for everyone, whether in writing, face-to-face, or through engaging presentations.

  • Tech-Savvy: You’re comfortable with IT tools and have experience using tax compliance software packages.

  • Decisive Decision-Maker: You have a talent for making sound decisions that steer us in the right direction.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Accountant (for example ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and/or Qualified Tax Advisor (for example ATII or CTA).
  • Significant UK Corporate Tax experience, including extensive experience in tax compliance and reporting.
  • Alphatax and AlphaTag Experience.
  • Experience of tax in a large corporate environment.
  • Relevant Accountancy and Tax qualification.
  • Knowledge of Navision would be beneficial.

We are offering a salary up to £65,900 Plus Benefits
