A Day in the Life

Are you looking to lead and drive innovation in the Medical Device industry.  Working within the Supplier Quality team you will support the site with driving excellence with suppliers.

Responsible for leading a team of engineers ensuring the quality of the products supplied to the site from our external suppliers. This is a dynamic environment and needs a dynamic leader. At our Supplier Quality Engineering Dept in Medtronic, plc, we focus on Post Market Supplier Quality to deliver quality parts, materials and services to our customers. We strive to prevent defects and allow Medtronic to provide customers with the highest quality and reliable products.

  • Guide, grow, and motivate a talented and diverse team responsible for developing and implementing supplier quality strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Set clear goals, expectations, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Dami Monitor and report supplier quality metrics and use this information to build strong relationships with supplier partners to foster continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and complete performance reviews.
  • Identify training opportunities, support professional growth, encourage cross-functional learning and skill development within the team.
  • Participate in the ongoing development and scaling of the organization in line with business demands and ensure that we have the skillsets in place to deliver predictable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross functional and cross site teams to establish supplier quality requirements in line with operational objectives.
  • Responsible for managing functional resource allocation.
  • Understand and comply with company policies & procedures and external standards & guidance.
  • Generate solutions to process, engineering and organizational challenges.
    Key Skills & Experience  
    • Level 8 Degree or higher in Engineering, Science, IT or related discipline and 5 years direct managerial experience of engineers and a career history of demonstrated progressive management experience.
    • Excellent team building, communication, people management and management skills.
    • Dynamic team player and mentor and can work effectively and proactively on a global team.
    • Experienced in the medical device market and have a proven result driven record of accomplishment
