Job Description

The Senior Cloud Engineer (IT) works closely with the Software Engineering and Sales Engineering Divisions to research, design and implement systems and/or infrastructure. The Senior Cloud Engineer (IT) assists in the design and management of cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy. This is a full-time position with remote, hybrid and on-site opportunities available.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and managing Inductive Automation’s organization's cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy
  • Developing and modifying scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure on IaaS and PaaS platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Evaluating and identifying the best cloud solutions for the organization
  • Incorporating security management and privacy requirements into cloud hardware, software, and applications
  • Designing controls and processes that utilize available audit tools
  • Maintaining up-to-date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology
  • Participating in on-call rotation for customer-facing services

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of cloud engineering experience
  • Experience with:
  • Systems Design / Cloud Architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Cloud Computing (Linux, Containers)
  • IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service)
  • Requirements Engineering/Analysis
  • Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Software
  • Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring Software (DataDog, New Relic, Dynatrace, CloudWatch)
  • Must be highly competent with Linux/Unix
  • Strong skills in cloud technology (AWS)
  • Experience with the use of config management systems (Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) i.e. Terraform, CloudFormation
  • Knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Willingness to study and keep up on technology
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Preferred but not required:
  • Certifications (Certified Cloud Architect)
