Location: Slough, UK (Hybrid)

The actual location of this job is in Slough, UK. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across three continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

The Program Manager will have responsibility and accountability for the development and oversight of cross-discipline and cross-functional innovation teams and projects within a designated area of R&D. This role is an exciting opportunity to manage complex projects, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and directly contribute to innovation in life sciences.

What you will get:

  • An agile career and dynamic working culture

  • An inclusive and ethical workplace

  • Compensation programs that recognize high performance

  • A variety of benefits dependent on role and location

The full list of our global benefits can be also found on https://www.lonza.com/careers/benefits.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with Project Leads to develop and manage project scope, budgets, deliverables, and understand risks

  • Maintain accurate live project information and status in consultation with Project Lead and as outcome from regular team meetings, which the Program Manager chairs

  • Prioritize and manage multiple work packages with overlapping deadlines

  • Support and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams; keep team members accountable and informed of any projects linked to their own

  • Conduct team meetings, both internal and external, as well as with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure work is performed according to the Project Plan

  • Work with Project Leads and senior management to secure required resources and capacity commitments and obtain buy-in from all relevant stakeholders

What we are looking for:

  • B.Sc. in Biotechnology required; Ph.D. preferred

  • Previous experience in project/program management, ideally in pharmaceutical or CMO industry

  • Proven knowledge of technical, commercial, and organizational issues impacting project strategy and planning

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex issues without routine solutions

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Fluency in English
