Job Description

The role sits within the Managed Services function of the Data & AI practice. The delivery function develops and builds Data Platforms, Integrations, ML platforms etc for our clients – and Managed Services provides ongoing support and management once built and delivered. 

We are looking supplement our team with a Managed Services Consultant; to help support our Junior Consultants, triage incidents, maintain and review data platforms and carry out small development works. You will also on occasion be required to monitor data processes and pipelines for a variety of our customers, and manage any issues through to resolution.

You’ll be working, collaborating and socialising with your colleagues across all three of our offices in the UK, Bulgaria, and India. There will be a need to work outside of the normal office hours occasionally, but this can be remotely (from your home) and of course, this time will be recognised and rewarded. 

We are looking for a dynamic individual with exceptional interpersonal skills who is passionate and eager to learn new skills. There will be regular contact with clients, so applicants must be comfortable discussing technical concepts in a clear and concise language.  

    Qualifications

    Responsibilities

    As a Managed Services Consultant in the Managed Services team, your responsibilities will include the following: 

    • Act as a technical point of escalation for Junior Consultants and clients
    • Ensure technical knowledge is transferred within the team
    • Maintaining Cloud and on-premise environments
    • Monitor infrastructure performance/ costs and maintain systems according to client requirements
    • Investigate, triage, and fix data platform incidents and requests.
    • Effectively communicate issues and resolution plans to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Complete and help manage small development projects to ensure our clients’ platforms are able to grow and adapt to their changing needs.
    • Contribute to root cause analysis and problem management; building long-term fixes for all our clients after identifying underlying problems with their platforms.
    • Technical documentation, sharing operational and technical knowledge with the wider team.
    • Collaborate with other members of the Managed Service team at all levels, to develop your data skillset

    Experience & Skills 

    • Experience and exposure to modern data platform technology, ideally cloud based (Azure preferable) from a similar role.
    • Demonstrable experience in (but not limited to) Microsoft SQL Server, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, Power BI, Integration Services, Analysis Services.
    • Demonstrable understanding of SQL querying
    • Strong record of organisation, proactivity and diligence – ideally in a customer facing environment. 
    • Attention to detail and a focus on continual improvement 
    • Problem solving and ability to identify both opportunities and issues 
    • Strong ability to communicate (with strong written and spoken English) – experience leading meetings or sessions would be ideal. 
    • Ability to effectively and concisely communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Experience with Python (and pyspark/pandas/polars), or another programming language would be beneficial. 
    • Ability and attitude towards investigating and sharing new technologies
    • Willingness to learn from feedback and desire to help others
