About Us

At Dyson we believe everything could be better. Fuelled by a frustration with things that don’t work properly and a relentless obsession with making them work better, we’ve spent the last 25 years pioneering inventions and continually improving.

We’re growing fast. And our ambition is huge. But it’s not simply about more people and more profit. Dyson is all about better ideas and new technologies. It’s about inventing the future.

Our philosophy remains the same as it was 25 years ago when James Dyson invented the first cyclonic vacuum cleaner. We remain family-owned. We don’t bow to outside shareholders or report to the stock exchange. Instead we plot our own path, unshackled from conventional thinking.

About the Role

Join Dyson’s Global Communications team and help shape every facet of the Dyson story – innovation, technology, good works and our culture. You’ll work on comms for Dyson, the global technology company, but also support Dyson’s farms, the Dyson Institute, and the James Dyson Foundation.

Based in the London Press Office near Oxford Circus, you’ll collaborate with a tight-knit team and frequently visit our R&D Campus in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, where 2,000 Dyson people create the technology of tomorrow.

Enhance and protect Dyson’s reputation: handle UK and global media, build key journalist relationships, and drive positive engagement inside and outside Dyson. You’ll work with senior leaders globally and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Support the Global Communications leadership team: Work closely with global comms leaders on campaigns, major projects, media moments, and VIP/media visits.

  • Campaigns and coverage: Plan and deliver integrated communications campaigns that support Dyson’s commercial, corporate, and reputational goals.

  • Media relations: Spot and pursue media opportunities, manage the press inbox, lead issues/crisis communications and planning, and support media engagement in GB.

  • Monitoring and reporting: Track and analyse media coverage and manage an external agency that supports this work, providing quick, insightful updates for ongoing and emerging topics. Some out-of-hours monitoring every 5-6 weeks.

  • Collaboration: Supporting other areas of the business, different markets and departments, with comms support and guidance, including in the creation of company policies and frameworks.

  • Stakeholder management: Build strong relationships with internal and external partners; keep key stakeholders informed and engaged.

  • Content creation: Lead development of communication materials for flagship business areas, working with creative teams.

  • Reputation management: Help identify, mitigate, and respond to potential reputational challenges with timely, creative solutions.

  • Reputation support: Champion and support Dyson Farming, the Dyson Institute, the James Dyson Foundation, working with their respective leaders to shape their reputations.

  • Executive support: Prepare senior leaders and engineers for public engagement, interviews, and media appearances.

  • Internal comms: Partner with the Internal Communications team to ensure Dyson people stay informed and inspired.

About You
  • Experience in PR, communications, journalism, or as a special adviser.

  • Standout communicator – creative, confident, and compelling, in writing and in person.

  • Energised by technology, innovation, and storytelling.

  • Calm under pressure, organised, proactive, and laser-focused on detail.

  • Adaptable and independent, but always ready to collaborate.

  • Excellent at project management

What you need to know about the London Tech Scene

Boasting one of the most recognized fintech ecosystems in Europe, attracting billions in investments each year, London's success has made it a go-to destination for startups looking to make their mark. Top U.K. companies like Hoptin, Moneybox and Marshmallow have already made the city their base — yet fintech is just the beginning. From healthtech to renewable energy to cybersecurity and beyond, the city's startups are breaking new ground across a range of industries.
