Job Purpose
As a Portfolio Management Analyst you will assist with portfolio management responsibilities and initiatives across InfraRed’s managed funds. Your role encompasses financial management and reporting in relation to investments (including performing semi-annual valuations), in addition to delivering value enhancements to maximise yield and NAV. You will work closely with Fund Managers, Portfolio Directors, Asset Managers and Finance teams within InfraRed as well as the external providers and management teams of projects.
Key Job Responsibilities
Valuations
- Support the cyclical valuation process for infrastructure funds by preparing assumptions, reviewing models, and consolidating outputs. Assist in tracking performance against business plans and contribute to ad-hoc analysis outside reporting cycles. Collaborate with Asset Managers to assess risks and opportunities affecting asset value and yield.
Operational Assets
- Work on valuations for complex assets, ensuring performance is monitored against KPIs. Provide analysis to support strategic decisions, including input for Investment Committee papers.
Forecasting & Strategic Planning
- Prepare financial forecasts, focusing on cashflow, yield, and dividend cover. Contribute to annual business plans and quarterly fund model updates.
Value Enhancement & Preservation
- Support initiatives aimed at improving or protecting NAV and yield, such as refinancings, equity investments, and cash optimisation strategies. Participate in accounting and tax-related projects across the portfolio.
Reporting & Communication
- Assist in preparing board and investor materials, and present sections to senior stakeholders. Help Fund Managers and Investor Relations teams with Q&A preparation for analysts and investors ahead of reporting dates.
Skills and Qualifications
- A part- or newly qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CPA) is preferred
- Knowledge of financial modelling (transaction or portfolio management experience within the infrastructure sector is ideal)
- Working knowledge of investment accounting, tax and DCF principles
- Strong English (written and verbal) communication skills, ability to engage with senior management
- Proficient in MS Excel as you will be working with detailed Excel project finance models
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team on a variety of tasks concurrently
- Able to deliver accurate, quality reporting to meet tight deadlines
